letting in the pets and critters
Palooka's thread reminded me to post this...
Last night before bell choir rehearsal, the cats scooted out of the house as i let in the dogs.
When i get home and let the dogs out, Allwyn coms scurrying in but there is no sign or sound from Caesar. I decide to watch some tv until he comes to the door because i know he won't be happy left out all night in this weather, and it isn't even cold yet.
After about 20 mins he comes to the sliding glass door but the dogs see him and he won't "run the gamut" to get inside but turn and stay out till the coast is clear.... so i go to the kitchen door to let him in.
Cleo and Lacy follow me and as i glance back at them i see Caesar enter... Cleo makes a bee-line for the trashcan, pushes it out of the way and sticks her nose between the wall and the dry sink. Ruh Roh!!!
"Honey, where's the flashlight?" I let Greebo know that I think a mouse had gotten in he thinks we should just leave it to the cat to get. But then with the flash light i KNOW that we have a mouse and he is about 3 inches beyond Cleo's nose, crammed between the wall and cabinet.
Ummmm. He's cornered and if we can just block off a path to the door, we can get him out. So Greebo makes a path to the open door with a box, I pull out the yard stick and we gently nudge the little guy back out. I'm sure he can find a nice cozy place to live OUTSIDE or UNDER the porch but NOT IN MY KITCHEN!
Cleo spent another 10 mins sniffing the floor to figure out what it was and can she get it back?
I'm thinking Caesar was carrying the little mouse in to me and dropped it at my feet as a gift.

I've been trapping them dang varmints in the garage for two weeks.
Half of the time they eat all the peanut butter without setting off the trap!

Caesar sent us an email:
Dear stupid humans,
What the hell? You guys talk a lot of talk about being frugal, but when I bring home my own late night snacks to save you on cat food, YOU let it go!!!
Hypocrites!
Gimme more catnip!

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

My cat would either play with the mouse or sit on it. Seriously. She sits on her toys.

That mouse wouldn't last long at my house. I have three of them that would eat it and two who would play with it until it was dead.

So I let Cleo in this evening and she waited at the door waiting and watching Caesar very intently as he slowly sauntered in. Nothing in his mouth tonight! lol

My cats love to bring mice to me and drop them right at the doorway of the sliding glass door. They are darn proud and love to show off! They must think they are gift giving.
