Does your cat growl?
My cat immediately runs to the bedroom to hide when she hears the door bell. Many times before someone rings the bell she will growl. It is just a low growl but it is a growl. Which of course I find funny. Sometimes when she is looking out a window and sees something she doesn't like she will growl. A different cat would sit at the window and growl everytime a neighbor would be near the window picking my flowers.
When growing up the cats would growl at each other if they were eating some occasion non-cat food and were close to each other or inspecting what the other was eating.
So how about you? Does your cat growl, and what types of situations causes the growl?

I have many and they growl at each other. Growl and hiss at my dogs (the same dogs they curl up w/ sometimes), growl andchirp talk at birds.
Many years ago I woke to 2 long haired outside black cats going at it. It was like something from the depths of hell and EERIE. It sounded like a baby crying or being tortured w/ a lot of mwwaamwmaaas PFFFT,PFTTT"S added in. I stayed inside!!! These cats bore only a slight resemblence to my sweet indoors cats even though they were related.
On a funnier note i used to have a persian that regularly growled at and beat herself up in the full length closet mirrors. And my current long haired (suspected brain damaged) fluff stares at walls and growls occasionally??

One of my cats growls while he's eating -- esp. if he managed to get a hold of some "people" food!

Kiki doesn't move. She will twitch an ear though. If we go outside, she comes and hangs out, almost like she is protecting us. She comes near us if people are on the property.
Coco runs and hides. But, she runs and hides at almost everything.
Fluffy, Whitey, and Socksie won't run and hide, but they will stay a distance away. They don't mind observing new humans, but they don't want anything to do with them.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

Two of our four cats growl.
Dd's cat, Maggie, growls when you pick her up. She's not vicious and won't hurt anyone...that's just how she vocalizes. It's hilarious.
Our orange cat, Poncho, growls when the younger cats get too close to him. He doesn't like them much lol.
We used to have an orange cat who would run & hide under a bed at the doorbell and growl the entire time. When we were showing our house, we had to tell all the Realtors showing the house that if they heard growling don't worry it was just the cat and he was all "growl" and no bite lol.

My wimpy little cat thinks she's a guard dog or something.
She will growl and even sit up like a gopher when she senses something.
It's pretty cute.
