How are your pets spending the holidays?
So here I am blissfully thinking all I need to do is bake some cookies for saturday and I am done with the holidays.
Then it dawned on me. I didn't make kitty a toy. So do I whip something up tonight for her. Grant it, will leave the wrapping paper out for her to play with. And will open a can of cat food, since she only gets this on the holidays and basically gorges herself because she loves it. I think it is more fun for me to watch her eat it.
Think I will loosely wrap some kitty treats in paper. Hopefully she will have fun ripping it open.
So how will your pets be spending the holidays? So far mine snuck a sip of egg nog out of my mug. Don't worry, no liquor in it. And she is running around all crazy.

my 2 kitties will be doing what they do best...nothing at all...because every day for them is 'x-mas, their b-day and isn't it just great to be alive' all rolled into one....
they will sleep most of the day (after they have woken ME at 4am for can food)...only to occassional arise to make sure i haven't left in case they should 'need' something....perhaps sauntering back into the kitchen where they will stand over their foodbowls demanding more can food...then they will sit in front of the cabinet where the treats are kept and stare at me guilting me into giving them even more to eat....after that they will retreat back in front of the fire to sleep for a few more hrs...until they are needing a good backrub in which case they will park themselves on my chest right under my neck so that i cannot move and will stay until they believe i had done a good enough job....
then its bedtime...and we start the whole day over again tomorrow.....

The boy cat has enjoyed laying under the tree batting at ornaments (I have the real looking plastic ones down low so it is not a hazard if one goes flying across the room.) The dog goes out long enough to do his business then he wants back in his "bed". He shot into it so fast a few days ago, he sent the cage sliding across the floor.

They will all be dozing while I'm at my moms during the day on Christmas, then when I get home, I bought the dogs a special chewy that they can have and the kitty a catnip toy he can bat around. Although, truth be told, my cat loves the empty toilet paper cardboard tube thing!

My 2 kitties, and the doggie have full stockings. Filled with catnip, and treats, and toys. They seem to be anxious for their presents.

My dogs will be getting prime rib scraps for dinner tonight. Usually, on Christmas Day, I make pancakes for the parrots. Maybe I'll make enough for the dogs, too.
The goats and donkeys get carrots and apples and a few horse cookies each. The chickens get a big (4 lb) bag of corn mixed with pasta and, if I'm feeling exceptionally generous, frozen blueberries.

We eat first and then they eat. Dogs got turkey and roast beef sandwiches. Cats get real tuna. We will open gifts. Then they come in and get their gifts. The dogs got new collars and leashes, mini cookies, beefy bones cookies. The cats got nip toys and feathers attached to 2 straws. We will play "bird" until they shred the straws and feathers. My recently injured beagle is living it up on my DS new blanket. They all get to sit w/ us and watch a movie. It is xmas after all. Hey,last year my DD crocheted a Dalamation for my German Shepard. Now that was funny.

Our dogs have stockings and they will be filled with toys and treats. They get special canned dog food on Christmas as well. Miss Sassy will get a new collar as hers is wearing out. It's funny, they'll sit in front of the fireplace where their stockings are hung and beg! After they gorge themselves they'll sleep for several hours.

Crash (lab pup) has been banished for the last 36 hours or so, while I was getting ready for company. They left this evening, so I brought him up, and he spend about an hour enjoying the toys my sister bought for him.
