    Default That darned cat!

Guess who is supposed to be at the vets with their cat right now for a check up? I can usually find Daisy outside easily, but not today. I called the Vet's and was surprised to be able to reschedule for this afternoon. Was happy to get 9:15 originally because there is less of a wait.
Dh just went outside and guess who was at the door? ARGH!!! She came home at 9:15, the exact same time of the appt. Sneaky little thing!

Vet's, don't want to go to no stinkin' Vet's.

    yeah, CATS!!!!!!!!!

I made sure the staff knew just how aggressive mine was before we went last time as this was a new vet. I was really worried, because I just knew he was going to hurt someone.

He acted like an angel the entire time, didn't even offer to scratch, hiss or bite. I am pretty sure he was on good behavior just to make me look like an idiot.

Lol Josephhgoins, sound like a child who is an angel at others homes or school but a monster sometimes at home.
Not sure how my cat is going to react, this is her first visit back to the vet since we got her as a kitten from the shelter.
I know she doesn't like her nails trimmed but hers are staying pretty short with tree climbing etc. so they probably won't try to trim them. She's due for feline leukemia and her 3 year rabies shot.
As a kitten she was a happy camper for the trip but I'm sure she'll be panting and howling this time. Oh joy!
As long as she doesn't pee in her carrier and need a bath I'll be OK. Please don't need a bath, please!

I did the same thing! When we first got Rambo, I took him to the vet on the way out of Tampa, to get him tested for FIV/Leukemia...because our older cat hasn't been vaccinated for it in awhile (indoor cat.) He was 2 months old and tried to tear the girls to shreds! It WAS just a day after he was in there to get shots and neutered so....I guess he felt he had a good reason lol. So I just took him to my regular vet a few weeks ago and warned the girl before she took him out of the carrier. What does he do? He curls up into a cute little ball of fur while she's holding him. He even PURRED!!! The little devil.... She even said something lol, "Oh, now you're a good boy, what was she talking about?"

Sounds like maybe she knew she had to be somewhere at 9:15 and the only place she knew to go was home.

Mine feels the need to poop in his carrier almost every time we go. I first put a towel in, now he gets his litter box in there with him.

I did find out my Vets secret. They have a spray that calms down the male cats. If you give them notice they spray themselves with it (and sometimes the room you they put you in). I bought a can, it was $45 for 75ml and it was perhaps the best money I have ever EVER spent. I sprayed the furniture and he stopped clawing it as much and he rarely attacks me now.

Well we got her in the house before the new appointment & it went off without a hitch. No excessive howling (only 2x), NO panting & no "oops" in the carrier. She just layed down and meowed every now and then. She was so good, even let them trim her nails. Maybe she thought it was a spa day...

Anyone remember the cat I had before this one? He was a big boy, almost 20 lbs, my dainty girl is 7.6 lbs and is around 15 months old.

Oh boy do I have a bunch of cat and vet stories.

My first cat I would always have to call the vet saying I would be late because my cat kept getting out of the carrier. Listening to laughter on the other end of the phone.

Another cat would FART the whole way to the vet and the whole way back from the vet.

Another cat would get so upset she would poo in the carrier. And if she didn't then she would wait until she was out of the carrier. Go to a corner of the exam room turn her back towards us and poo. Or she would go while I was carrying her to the car. Then I would have to come back into the office to clean out her carrier.

Fortunately the ones I have now just yell. The anxious one makes a liar out of me when I tell them she might hiss at the attendants or doctor. The other one gets all ninja and I have to grab her and take her out of the carrier. Other wise she is spread out in the carrier and not coming out.

Does that spray work for dogs too?
