Default Do your pets take on pest control?

I am wondering if your pets take on pest control for you.

Usually my one cat will go after anything that is flying around. Crawling bugs seems to just draw her interest. The other one seems to just want to become friends with any insect.

The other evening I was outside and a fly decided to come inside. I thought ok, will give the little one something to do. Unfortunately she just looked at it flying around and did nothing. Needless to say I had to take matters into my own hands.

Yes, our Lab used to catch flying bugs in his mouth.

I have a Border Collie who is very efficient at catching moles. I have joked to my DH that we should hire him out and have him earn some extra money for us.

I have a cat who is a hunter/killer. Two of the other cats are just hunters. The other two want to be hunters but one is too afraid and the other, well, hunting takes too much effort.

Caesar will go after mice in and out of the house until the dogs catch on that he has a toy and they don't. Once the dogs are involved Caesar will just walk away.

Cleo, the dog, will snap at flies that are close by but won't really move quick enough to catch one.

Precious, the dog, can't see things smaller than the cat. LOL

Allwyn, the cat thinks he's too pretty to go hunting and prefers his dinners in a dish.

Lacy, the dog, will go after Caesar.

So yes, sometimes but not good at it, don't know what your talking about, no and yes.

    LOL

My cat goes after anything that moves and is smaller than her, lol. Happy that she doesn't bring them home to share.
She has quite the hunting ground and seems to be always on high alert, comes home to rest up then out on patrol again.
I really enjoy watching her go after flying objects, just makes me smile watching her jump & flip this way and that.
Dog could care less about anything except deer & we don't let him chase them.
