My Saint eats these Organic treats. She had her last one last night. They look like a slice of pizza. She wasn't sure at first. But likes them. I had coupons and they were near free. She gets one at the end of the night after her last potty break .

Yea, watching the cat lick peanut butter off her check is pretty funny.
She also likes a small piece of homemade fresh bread.

My pug gets a treat after she goes outside. I usually give her homemade treats because I have noticed the ones from the store puts weight on her.

My dogs have allergies to different foods, dyes, etc. To combat the fact that they can't have most commercial treats (and have to eat special dog foods) I get the free samples of Organic or Grain Free dog foods and use those as treats. You can get them at various pet expos, sometimes at pet stores, and even if they do charge $1 or so for the tiny bag its a pretty cheap treat.
Although, I'll confess, if its a REALLY special occasion they will get a tidbit, here is an example:
Yesterday I was in the kitchen, they are NOT allowed in the kitchen. Four of the dogs were lined up "at the line" (where the dining room carpet meets the kitchen linoleum) watching me in the kitchen. I dropped an entire Oreo cookie top! The dogs did NOT rush and grab it, is that amazing or what? Not one dog moved. So the cookie top was divided into 4 tiny bites and given to them "at the line" with praise.
In general, though, I have the special dog food tidbits in the car, pockets of various coats, and around the house for rewarding.LDR

In the morning when I leave for work, I give my dogs 2 spoonfuls (yes they eat off a spoon) of canned dog food. They love it and think it's the best treat ever.
Whenever I need them to do something, go in or out of the house, I give them one of those little beef jerkey sticks or some canine carryout-type treats.

I am a huge fan of Charlee Bear dog treats. They're small, cracker-like, and won't get gross if you want to throw them in your pocket and go outside for some training. Peanut loves them. I can't find them locally, I have to get them at Amazon.
