    Pug's

Does anyone have a Pug ?
Charlie is a gift to us and he is now 3 years old .
He is allergic to everything in most dog food .
Finally found Natural Balance and he seems to be ok .

Hi! I have had a Pug named Arthur for 5 years, and he is a sweetheart. We took in a tea cup pug as a rescue and was told she was fixed, well needless to say we just had a litter of pugs in November of this yr. They are absolutely adorable.

I don't have a pug but my dogs have various allergies. Here is what is currently working for all 5 dogs:

    Del Monte: Nature's Recipe

For extreme allergies my vet recommends Science Diet ZD but you absolutely cannot let them have anything else while you are feeding it. No treats, no people food, no accidently getting into another dog's food, etc.

Things I have been told to stay away from with my allergy dogs: beef, chicken, corn, wheat, possibly eggs.

This includes ALL treats, read the labels as traces of the above can be found in many treats. Thankfully the same company above makes dog treats that my dogs can have.

It also includes chews such as rawhide, bully sticks, etc.

There is a Pets section on this forum for more reading, as well.

    Best wishes.

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

Try pure coconut oil. I get mine from Tropical Traditions ( they sell on ebay as well as online) I am not affiliated with them in any way , just love their products and it solved the issues with my pug.

Our Roxie (pug) is 3 years old also. She has very bad skin issues and I found that I too have to be very careful what I feed her. I have found if I just check and make sure that corn is not one of the main ingredients in the food she does so much better.

I don't have a pug but I do have a dog that had skin and allergy issues and I put him on Solid Gold dog food, I use Holistique Blend. There is no corn, wheat, soy, chicken or beef in the ingredients. It is made with fish. My dog has done very well on this food but as someone else mentioned you cannot give them people food or regular dog treats which will have the ingredients that your dog is probably allergic to.

I give it to them by the spoonful usually 1/4 teaspoon for 10 pounds on up. They love it and days they don't need it they refuse it. They have healthy coats, gorgeous eyes, no itching etc. Coconut oil is nourishing, anti fungal and antibacterial. Hope this helps. You can put in their food or bake their treats with it though if you make homemade.
