    Default I'm so broken hearted...

This afternoon I had to have my beloved German Shepherd euthanized.

My poor Maxx started having "cluster seizures" again today...they were some of the worst he's had...the last one...I really didn't think he would make it out of it.
Some say there's not actual pain associated with grand mal seizures, and they may be correct, but Maxx was screaming so terribly I have no doubt he was in excruciating pain.
With a heavy heart, and crying the entire way and time, I took him to the vet and ended all the pain.
I realize he was a pet, not human...but he was part of my family just the same....and can't seem to stop the grief...

Oh, Paws, I am so sorry. My pets are just as much family as any human members, and a loving heart is a loving heart, no matter what it resides in.

I am soooooo sorry and please don't ever think you have to make an excuse that he wasn't human; I totally agree with madhen and polly; they are part of our family and it doesn't matter that they are not human. I'm going to pm you a beautiful poem that my sil sent me after we had to euthanize one of our dogs.

It isn't time to stop the grief. It is time to feel the grief. Grieve and morn. It is appropriate.

I am sorry for your loss.

They may not be human, but in my opinion they are pretty darn close and sometimes better.
