Darn MH, your pictures of Olivia and her puppies, and your descriptions really have made me think about getting a dog. Just when I thought I would forever be a cat person! (I had a very sweet Golden Retriever mix who weighed 120 pounds. I still miss him but I think I might give a smaller dog a try.)

Okay, back from the county, after dropping off my foster puppies. The good news is that I met the couple who ended up adopting Olivia (!) and they were SO NICE!!! Older couple who have had dachshunds before. I think Liv is going to be one spoiled little dog!

I was also able to be there for Sugar's adoption. Young couple, also very nice. They asked a lot of questions and almost took Duke, but the guy obviously loved Sugar, and she was gone less than 10 minutes after I brought her.

The county office closes at lunch, and just a minute or two before closing, a woman came in who had called about Dora and wanted to adopt her. She was planning on coming back at 1p, and she took the adoption paperwork with her, so hopefully, Dora will be in her new home tonight. I didn't really get a chance to talk to the woman, because the staff was kind of rushing her out so they could close for lunch.

So, I had to leave Duke, Percy, and Boris behind, and I felt really depressed about that, but really happy that Olivia found such a great couple. (They came in with the intent of adopting a puppy, but the husband really preferred an adult, so they kind of got a compromise with Olivia, since she is probably just a year old.) The guy is a retired engineer, probably in his early 70's. The whole time I talked to him (as his wife was filling out the paperwork), he was petting Olivia and fussing over her. He said she would be sitting next to him on the couch tonight while he watches football! They are retired, so she'll have company all day!

MH, that's wonderful news! You have been such a champion for Liv and her pups. Gosh, you worked miracles, miracles. I love how you ended Olivia's description...get toys, lots of em, with squeakers.
