    Red face Why MEEEEEE?????

Ok, long story short, I am NOT a cat person. They are neat but I personally love dogs, BIG dogs.
Well my son has 4 kittens. I agreed to keep one as mine to replace a cat i had that i did love.
Well one of his others is driving me nuts! He wants to be my cat, jumps on me all the time, follows me like a puppy intertwines himself in my feet!
Now most of this would not bug me, but (Ya knew that was coming didntcha???) When he jumps on me he lands, claws out! He doesn't let go either, even once he is secure.
My legs arms and back, shoulders, all look like I have some kind of rash from his itty bitty dag gum ultra sharp CLAWS!!!!!!
It kills me I don't mind him jumping on my lap, but RETRACT RETRACT!!!!!
    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr
Well i feel better, my leg still burns from his last stunt but its getting better now.

OUCH. I am a big dog person as well. I like cats, but ours only wants to play by grabbing me and biting the "snot" out of me.

Here's hoping your new little friend will learn soon!

Well now he has my kitty doing it too, but she usually just grabs the hem of my shirt.
the boy how ever seems to prefer bare skin! I have all this pyramid sets of scars, in the shape of kitty claws.
I shoulda said no more cats but my ds was sooooooooooo cute when he asked to keep them (we gave away all the others)
and he really doesnt ask for much...well not often anyway!

I hope they grow out of this soon. DH and DD brought 2 cats home when we had a mouse problem but they
    a) did not catch mice
    b) scratched at my furniture
    c) clawed us all too

They are now outside cats. I don't let them in for anything. I am now assured I am not a cat person. I like them and they are really cute but they can be all of that outside, LOL.

Couple things you can do Mel, start holding his paws all the time to get used to it, then get regular (people) nail clippers and keep thier nails short. Also just as with kids, pick him off you, put him down and say "NO", it may take a hundred times before he gets it though. You can also hold his paws firmly (not so hard as to hurt him) and say "NO" everytime he does this.

Now these things may not work, I had one kitty that I bottle fed who thought I was her personal tree trunk. Her favorite perch was my shoulder no matter what I was doing! LOL

The little fellow loves you but scratches hurt, I know my arms and hands are very scarred from playing with kitties. Cold water immediately on the scratch stops them from itching.

    Good luck.
