    Default Gypsy is still hobbling!

Gypsy is off the show circuit for awhile. Two weeks ago Tuesday, she and DS#1 were playing on the couch. This is a NO NO and i had just gotten up to make her get off the couch when DS threw her ball for her. She launched herself off of the couch and caught her foot on the edge. She hyperextended it and damaged her knee (I think). The vet says to wait to see what she's like in a few days. Her breeder says the same thing. I am missing at least two shows, but my main concern is for her. I just want my girl to run on all four paws again! She can WALK (with a limp) on all four, but picks up the bad one to run. I had to laugh when I called the vet and one of the techs (who knows Gypsy well) said, "Keep her quiet!" I said, "Yeah, riiiiight" and she said, "I know" and laughed along with me. It doesn't slow her down at ALL!

Lori, my poodle has the same affliction. It doesn't bother her all of the time but sometimes she really limps after a jump off the couch. I hope Gypsy gets better soon. What type of dog is she?

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Gypsy is an American Staffordshire Terrier. My only concern is that she is supposed to show soon. Her MAIN job is to be our buddy and she can do this very well even if she limps for the rest of her life!
