    Default Gypsy had her surgery!

Gypsy had her surgery today. It went well. My vet called before he even gave her anesthesia and said he thought she wasn't limping so much. He gave me the option to wait a little longer if I wanted to. I told him that I respect his judgement and if he thought it needed to be done, to go ahead. Well, it's a good thing I did! When he got in there, her cruciate ligament was AT LEAST 99% torn. She is doing well and gets to come home tomorrow afternoon! I am going to be broke FOREVER, but at least she will be healthy for years to come.

I'm glad that you had it done too Lori. My 2 dd's, 2 of nephews had ACL surgery. I hope it wasn't as painful for her as it was for them...... (the injury and the surgery). They are all better now, except the weather changes make their knees ache.

Well, she actually came home on Thursday. The vet kept her an extra day. She's doing fine, but can'tseem to fathom that we aren't mad at her. She is being crated ALL of the time for the next few days. Since she can't do stairs, I have to carry her outside to potty. Geeze, I wonder why my back is sore? I am very glad she only weighs 42 lbs! I have no trouble lifting this much, but manuevering around chairs, lamps, cats, kids, etc. is going to cause me to have a hernia!

Glad she's on the mend. You take care so you don't end up having to be on the mend too.
