Wink Vet Builds Launder Memorial Wing!

Well, not really. BUT, I found out my old cat, Sophie is diabetic today. They have ordered her insulin and are going to keep her for a day or two (when it comes in) to get her regulated. She will have to be checked every month or so after that.

I hope she will continue to have a good life. However, I hope the cost isn't too high or DH will go through the roof. Right now (after her visit last week and the balance on Gypsy's surgery) I owe the vet $500.00. I will be paying more off on Thursday, but will be adding more on Friday!

Please keep Sophie in your thoughts and send kudos to our vet for letting me pay this off as I can. I have been a customer for over ten years so they know that I am good for the $, but it's always nice to be trusted too in this day and age!

I'm sorry that Sophie is diabetic. A good friend of ours has a diabetic cat and they have to give him shots daily. He seems to handle it really well and is doing fine. Praying that God will bless you financially so you can pay off that vet bill faster.

Debbie, God was listening! Friends of ours bought our Subaru from us this summer and have been paying it off $100.00 a month. Last night, DH came home with an envelope. He said it was from Eric (our friend) and inside was...$500.00! DH needs $300.00 of it for three cavities adn I am going to give the other $200.00 plus another $100.00 to the vet tomrrow. Thank you, God, for helping our critters in their time of need!

Wow, that is a little blessing that instead of the $100 you were expecting you got $500 instead.

I hope Sophie does well with the shots.

    Poor Sophie!!

The good news (as you've already seen) is that she's one of GOD's creatures too & sounds like He's looking out for her!!

Our ButterCup was an abused kitty someone had swung her around by her tail and her broke it...they had to remove most of her tail - it's about 3 inches long now! We adopted her when she was about 4 months old - wow that's been a little over a year ago! She's so spoiled rotten now! She hears the sound of her "good girl treat" package (Whisker Lickins') and she comes a running!!

Glad things have worked out well for both of our girls!!

Well, Sophie is home from the vet's. I pick up her insulin and get her blood drawn again tomorrow. Let's hope this works! Thanks for thinking of her, gang!

Glad Sophie is home. I hope she does great with her medication.

I'll be thinking of all of you. Let us know how she is doing.

Well, good news! Sophie's blood sugar was 209 this morning WITHOUT any insulin! We're going to monitor this and it's possible that a diet change alone will level it off. I sure hope so! She has been a real trooper through all of this!

Update--today it was 176!! We're getting closer to me being able to regulate it rather than taking her every darned day to have her blood drawn. Her urine output is closer to normal too (I know--WAAAY too much info!). Hopefully she will stabilize soon!
