They asked me to help
Like I don't have anything else to do...but it's a very worthy cause! Our Animal Control officer stopped to talk with me today. They have two Pits in the shelter that are such nice dogs that she's had them for a YEAR. However, they absolutely ZERO manners. She asked if I could volunteer to spend a little time with them, teaching them some obedience basics. I agreed to spend 20 minutes each, twice a week with them. It's all I can spare at the moment, but it's better than nothing. I hope this will help so these wiggle butts can go to forever homes. We will see how it goes!

Good for you, Lori. You're giving those dogs a chance to find a home that they might not have otherwise. You're a class act.

That is wonderful! I have been wanting to volunteer at our shelter here but I am going to wait until I have my work situation settled so that I know I have plenty of time.

Good for you & for them. If I were a "wiggle butt" I'd listen to you, you mean business.

Well, I have been there four times and the AC officer says she's sees improvement already! The dogs have figured out that Lori=fun, so they are thrilled to see me. ALL of the animlas there want a bit of my time, so I try to spread it around a bit. I spend a few minutes talking to all of the cats and petting them through the cages. There's no place to take tme out where they would be away from the dogs or I would do that. I talk with all of the dogs and give them treats. I wish there was a paying position in this, but I will still spend a few minutes with each animal as well as working witht he Pitties.

Lori, your doing a great thing by giving your time to these dogs. I know you'll make a huge difference with them. I volunteer at 2 animal shelters and every little bit helps.
