    Smile Gypsy, our guardian!

As you all know, Gypsy is friendly to the point of silliness, even with strangers. I have mentioned that I am sure she would defend us with every ounce of her being if needed and I was reminded of this again just lately. Case in point: the night before last, I was in the back of the house. My DSs were clearing the dining room table and lading the dishwasher. DH was somewhere in the house. Gypsy was snoring away in her OPEN crate. Suddenly, she came flying out of her crate, her hackles up, teeth bared and flung herself near the front door. I came from the back of the house, fully expecting her to be "protecting" the house from another "dangerous" skateboarding teenager going by on the sidewalk. Instead, I saw two BIG men standing on the sidewalk, holding plastic bags, staring intently into our FRONT WINDOW! At this point, Gypsy is BEGGING me to let her out, crying at the door and growling at the same time, with deep, deep growls coming from waaaay down in her chest. I grabbed her collar and "accidentally" let them see what was making the noise as I praised her and took her to the back of the house. When I came back to the front of the house, they were gone, THANK GOD. I am 100% certain that if she hadn't been there, we would have had trouble. More mild mannered? I think NOT. she is 1000000% a terrier, through and through!

What a good dog! YAY all Terriers! I have two airedale terriorists erm, terriers. they're awesome dogs. I think it's amazing that Gypsy can tell a real threat from everyday life happenings without any word from you. I wonder if these men gave off a scent that she picked up on.

    GOOD GIRL!
