Default lesson learned from unknown woman

It makes me cringe and extremely sad when I see news reports on the mistreatment of animals. This bad treatment can come from owners, the neighbours or from the the people who look after the animals and poultry that are going to slaughter. To me, the bad treatment of children and animals is humanity's worst crime.

So it does my heart good to see something first hand that restores my faith in our ability to show kindness towards the other animals we share the planet with. We had a small cyclone go through this area on Friday. I was working at our store and closed the shop at 2pm and came home. The road home winds along the top of a mountain range through beautifully lush rolling hills, dotted with cows and horses. The rain was pouring down and the strong winds had just started but out in all this weather I saw a woman and her ?son? carefull putting raincoats on about 12 horses. It looked like they'd brought the horses together and had fenced them into an area that was fairly sheltered - it was here she was talking to them and putting on their coats. The next morning when I travelled the same road, she was there again taking off the raincoats and petting the horses - as if to say: "It's okay now, the bad weather's gone". How I loved that woman! I hope she has a wonderful life and is treated as beautifully as she treats her horses.

I feel the same way Bethany, children and animals are so precious, it makes my blood boil when I hear of these atrocities!

This woman must be a wonderful person, I hope she gets all the joy in her life that she deserves!
