Invisible fence?

Does anyone have one of these? We have a pretty good sized dog who prefers to be outside. What do you think?

I don't have it but my parents do. They have around 5 acres and 2 dogs one sticks around no problem the other needed more training. So they used the invisible fence, a day or 2 with the coller on the dog and the fence on when he got to the edge he got a small zap. A few more days with the coller on but the fence off. He remembered where the "edge" was. Now he doesn't even wear the collar. If he does wander one day he gets the collar on but the "fence" stays off if he stays in the yard the collar comes off in a few days if he still wanders the fence goes on a day or 2.
The dog is around 6-7 and hasn't had the collar on since he was around 2.

My parents used the fence cuz the dogs were outside dogs and couldn't be watched while they were at work.
