Thumbs up Bath Day for the Dogs

Finally it is consistantly warm enough and I was able to really bathe the dogs yesterday. Oh they needed it so badly. I do bathe them in the winter when the wood stove is going and let them dry by it but since we had stopped using it, due to warmer daytime temps, I had not bathed them. After I finished, I brushed Cloe (the fluffy dog) and I got enough loose hair off her that I could have made another dog. She's got an appoinment for a hair cut in early May. I don't like to get her trimmed too soon just in case we have another cool spell. Both Cloe and Scooter look like different dogs, so clean and fluffy. Of course by the time I get home, they will have found something gross outside to roll in or a nice mud puddle to splash in. Well it was nice to have clean dogs for a little while at least.

Do you bathe your dogs yourself or do you take them to a groomer? and how often?

We bathe our dog ourselves Pat. He doesn't like it one bit!
We do it as often as is necessary, depends what he's been getting up to!

I wash both our dogs myself and neither one likes it. The older one runs and hides as soon as he hears the water running and we have to try to catch him.. so now I ususally put him on the leash and take him outside right before a bath and then when he comes in he goes right in the tub..

I don't bath them as often as I should cause it's such a hassle. Thank goodness they don't have the smelly dog smell

We take our's to the groomer (poodle) but I will bathe her sometimes in between monthly visits. She likes to be pretty but doesn't really care so much for the process.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

When I had my dog I bathed her myself, she wasn't fond of the process but didn't fight me either. It was cleaning up the bathroom after that I hated. I would be cleaning hair off the ceiling!
