    Default Favorite breed?

Ok, gang, what is your favorite breed of dog? I have worked and lived with the bull breeds for a quarter of a century and looove these guys! My last dog was a Pit mix and my current is an American Staffordshire Terrier (a relative of the Pit Bull).

These dogs are wonderful companions and live for their families. Remember Pete the Pup of The Little Rascals? Yup, same breed. Pits were one of the most popular family dogs in the American west as well as the first half of the twentieth century.

Many very famous people have owned bull breeds including Fred Astaire, Laura Ingalls Wilder and Helen Keller.

So, sing the praises of your favorite breed here!

Samoyeds. I've had 2 very special Sammies in my life, and loved them both dearly. They are intelligent fun loving, humour filled dogs with a definite mind of their own and a sunny personality.

then Border Collies also 2 dear friends in my life. A darker sense of humour, and a deeply sensitive nature. According to some book on canine IQ's they are supposed to be one of the smartest breeds.

Both breeds smell nice, and all of mine were and are extremely quiet. Not noisy people.

No other dog exists - it must be an airedale terrier. I have two. I love their square shape, their sharp intelligence, their playfullness and they are very protective.

I used to have a bull terrier - with pink eyes. He was a cutie but now my heart belongs to the airedales.

My dog is a German Shepherd (Alsation) X. He is very loyal and loving and very intelligent. We also had an Austalian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) before him, he too was loyal, loving and intelligent.
But previous to that we had two miniature poodles, the one was a simple soul who was affectionate, but the other had a real attitude problem and thought he should be king-pin!
So, we have had various breeds but I would never go for a smaller breed again, always a large dog for me! I find a larger dog to be more "One of the family' whereas a small breed is more of a lapdog. (Just my opinion of course!)

Well, I've had Alaskan Malamutes all of my life. My mom and dad had them before I was born. In case you haven't visited my website, you can see my six babies there.

Alaskan Malamutes are "family" dogs. But never get them for guard dogs, they love everybody! I've always said mine would unlock the door and show a burgler where the stuff is. They might even help them carry it out!

    I love them!

I have 2 breeds I like best. In the small lovable breed division, Westies. They are comical little fur balls. But, for the one that won my heart and get me going I'd have to say my Dobies are the winner. I can't look at one with out seeing the noble and majestic breed that it is!

I don't have a favorite breed, I have some I like better than others. I like German Shepards, Papillions, Yorkies, Irish Wolfhounds, Golden Retrievers, Doberman Pinchers, and Collies. I don't like most other dogs than these few breeds. I don't know why.

I don't have a dog because I live in an apartment but my favorites are Mastiffs - Big and love to cuddle! Mini Pinchers, and Whippets! I love all animals. It's hard just to think of a couple! I could make a HUGE list!

Gotta put a word in for my Beagle! Small enough for a city yard but tough enough to put up with small kids. One of the family, he sleeps UNDER my sons covers with him. He is just at a lost were to sleep if he is gon for the night.

But my all time favorite is the good ol mutt. I have never had problems with a mutt.

I grew up a 'mutt' owner. We were always picking up strays, so usually they were mixed. We now how my first pure-bred, she is a boxer, and I just LOVE how silly they are. They are so animated, and they love to get cuddles too! I haven't really had much experience with many other breeds, but I like Rotties. I am partial to short haired dogs, I love how soft they are when you snuggle them! My mom has a Maltese, and although I love Teeka, I would never get a toy breed. Mainly because I'd be afraid my 'rough n tumble' kids would break him/her. LOL
