Nosey my calico came from the pound, we had to pull her of the cage and drag her out, even at 5 weeks she was strong and scared to death. I think she was at least part feral.

Festus our tom was a stray kitten my dh claims jumped into the car onto his lap and he brought him home...lol.

Roscoe our dog had been abandonded by his owners at an apartment complex, some of the other tenants had been feeding him and dh saw him while visiting friends one day. After asking around, and finding out he didn't have an owner he brought him home.

Speck, the oldest cat was the kitten of our "apartment stray" we took them in and found homes for all of them and kept Speck for ourselves.

Speedy the bassett came from a breeder. Joe got her for me for a birthday present when we moved to a place were pets were allowed.

I adopted Rocky from ARF (Animal Rescue something a local organization where I went to college) She was $60 but that included shots, getting fixed and wormer for the first year.

Chloe (oldest dog) came from a breeder.
Ginger (middle dog) came from same breeder as Chloe.
Charlie (youngest dog) came from the state Aussie rescue program.
Tom (cat) came with our house we just bought. His former owner left him for us.

Anita, our princess found me when I was managing a convenience store way back in 1991, there was a heavy rainstorm ans she and her sister kept running in the door every time someone came in. Finally I put a box and a dish of milk in my car and put her in it, I then took her home after I closed the store for the night. I named her and the dog we got that year after the scandals of the year..Anita for Anita Hill (we also had a cat named Tommy after Clarence Thomas) and Duke for David Duke. So they were all strays.

DH had our first two cats when we got married.
Kilo he adopted when he was working out of state- she came from a local shelter.
Lucy was a stray kitten found by someone DH worked with, who convinced DH to take her home just a few months before we got married. I wasn't a cat person and didn't really want her, but, after we got married she definitely became "my" cat.
Dutchess we inherited when DH's dad passed away three years ago-- she was originally a shelter baby, too.

I got my furbaby, Archie from a small pet store that opened for a few months by the office i used to work at. He was in a cage with a lot of other kittens, and he was so sick. After i brought him home i made him well and he has never been sick again. I love cats so much. I only wish i couldve bought more from that woman, to save them.

Our dd wanted cat for her birthday so we went & found Punkin at our local shelter. What a nice surprise for my dd when she got the adoption papers and found out her cat was born on her birthday.
He's now a fat happy 10yr. old bundle of fur.

All 11 of my furbabies were strays. Because I have so many, I now only take them in if:

    1) they are abandoned or something happens to thier mom, like my new little one.

    2) they are hurt or injured.
