Peopel can be SOOO cruel!!
Dh and I took our Blazer in for an oil change at Wal-Mart. As were leaving and going out the back way we saw a minivan actually TOSS a cat out the window. The van sat there for a minute and then saw us and peeled out of there. We got out and the poor baby was so scared!! He didn't even run or anything. Just meowed at me and let me pick him up. Mind you this was a HOT steamy 90+ degree day and these people just tossed their animal onto the hot blacktop. This thing acted like it had never even been outside before. I only wish I could have gotten their plate # but then we wouldn't have gotten the cat.
Needless to say, we went straight to the vets. He had fleas and ear mites but was in good health. The vet said he was less than a year old and a very nice guy!!
When the vet took blood he didn't even try to scratch or bite. All the vet kept saying was this was a really nice cat. After the results came back for FIV leukimia the vet ok'd him to come into my house. Now we're doing the "intergration" process. Slowly but surely with my dog and cat. Hopefully it will all go well.
Heres Zane, the newest member of our family -- he had me at MEOW!

And if anyone has any tips for the intergration process -- I would be GRATEFUL!! My old Siamese just hisses and even has run at Zane. My dog is very mellow and they've just touched noses a few times with no incidents.

poor baby!! Hugs to you, his rescuer!
baby steps with the intros I would think. SewCrafty will probably have some great advise for you.
He is a pretty baby, i hope that he integrates well, and that he settles down into a happy place in your home.~~ Missy ~~

What a beauty!!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always done the "total immersion" thing when we've brought a new baby home....
At first Nemo & ButterCup hissed at each other constantly for the first few days, now they sleep tail to tail on Belle's bed!
Thank you so much for rescuing this little guy!! You're a angel!!

It depends on how old your cat you had already is. If he is an older cat I'd put him in a kennel/crate if you had one. Let him out for short intervals. Always remember to put him in a separate room at night. Your older cat will have free roam of the house and not feel threatened. Then the other cat will be able to sniff him and still be the "alpha" cat.
If it is a younger cat I'd throw them together just separating them at night. Good luck it may take a while but I bet they become the best of friends.

I'm so glad you found him and have given him a good home. Poor thing must have been terrified being throw out the window like that. I don't have any advice for integration because mine still hiss and bat at each other (but then I tend to be drawn towards animals with strange personalities).

No advice, my cat is an only 'child'. I'm glad you rescued him from those "people" and I use the term loosely. He's a cutie!

What a happy story. Kudos to you and Dh for rescuing Zane, I wish there were more people out there like the both of you. Good luck introducing him to your dog and cat, I hope they get used to each other soon.

I am so glad you were there to save him. What horrible excuses for humanity!!
I am crossing my fingers that time will help them to all get along.

Most times its best to start out with the little bit at a time deal. Adding a little more each time, maybe even bring out the blanket the new cat is sleeping on so your old kitty can get used to the new smell might help.
I can't believe how ignorant some people can be when it comes to animals I'm just glad there are people like you out there to help them when they can, you are an

Thanks for the advice everyone. The alpha cat seems to be doing better today with the baby. Kai is already 6 and acts like a crabby old man I tell you but today he walked up, touched noses and walked away. No hissing and whatnot.
Our dog is pretty mellow when it comes to cats so he's the least of my problems. They seem find already.
To be honest though -- I wish we COULD have chased down those people. It makes me so angry. I just want to see what people who throw animals in the alley look like. Grrrr...
Its actually my fault!! I've been wanting a new furbaby for awhile but just couldn't give myself the go-ahead. And so Zane was thrown into my lap!

Some people should be taken out and shot! I have a REAL problem with this sort of human trash.
Zane is a very handsome guy! Glad to see he's starting to fit in with the other fur kids.
