Default What is going on with my cat....

Speck is usually the crazy one, but lately our little laid back, doesn't have a care in the world, as long as she has food she happy, cat Rocky is going NUTS!

When we came up Friday she was sitting on the edge og the counter so when we opened the door she tried to run outside. Then after we got home Sunday and I was bringing Speedy inside after taking her out, Rocky bolted for the back door. I pulled it shut as she was running towards it and when she jumped she landed on the screen door and just hung there for a few seconds. I thought Joe was going to die laughing.

Yesterday she wouoldn't leave me and joe alone. She loves the chair in front of the computer and once we sit down she thinks she has to be in our lap. This cat has hardly ever been a lap cat eventhough she is just the sweetest thing in the world.

We read something on babycenter.com about how some pets sense that something is going on when their owner is pregnant and they act differently. Right now Rocky is asleep on my legs and has been the last 20 minutes or so. Normally when she gets on your lap she is gone in less than a minute or 2 but not lately.

Anyone else have a cat that use to keep mostly to themselves but now won't leave you alone?

Oh and the other thing, she can't, well doesn't meow. We got her when she was about 7 weeks old and all she did was growl and hiss once or twice at Speck and Speedy. Joe even stepped on her tail one day and looked down and she was popping at his foot like she was saying "get off my tail" but she still didn't meow. Lately she has started meowing more and more as well.

Kat, Nosey never used to meow either but she has started now and then, I can here here in another room or she'll stop and look at me and meow real soft. AND she's started wanting to sit on my lap for long periods of time and you know how she is too!

    Maybe it's going around.

Don't know why but enjoy the attention. Animals are something else.

What is it with the Condrey animals???

It's been over an hour and she is still on my lap purring away....lol

Oh yeah, she hates the carpet now too. If you put her down she starts shaking and she will jump from place to place or run across it real fast to get to where she is going. Last night she jumped from the bed to Joe's lap while he was sitting in her chair. Everytime he put her down she would whine and jump back up there.

Darlene, I am enjoying the attention. She is such a sweet cat and this is the longest I remember her staying in one spot and purring for as long as she has.

I just hope she doesn't continue this when I get fat and after the baby comes. We may have a problem then.

    She knows her momma's preggers.....

Our dog did the same thing when I was pregnant with Belle....

She'll calm down soon enough - maybe!
