    Cool Gypsy the Wonder Dog!

I know, you're sick of Gypsy stories, but here's one more.

Yesterday, I walked my DSs down to the school for the free lunch program. I can't take Gypsy inside, so I usually walk her around the block while I am waiting for them. As I started my usual walk, I noticed three special needs boys waiting for their bus. One of the assistants asked to pet Gypsy and of course, I said, "Yes". Well, the boys came trotting over as soon as we stopped. All three plopped down in front of her and she obligingly laid on her side for them to rub her tummy. She WON'T do this for Mom; special kids are another story!

The boys asked all sorts of good questions. They asked about the "bumps" on her tummy (nipples) and I explained what they were for. She very gently cleaned faces, ears and hands (not the usual rough house style she does with my DSs). Then the most amazing thing happened: they were playing with her feet. This doesnt sound weird until you learn that it takes THREE grown people to clip her nails and she has to be muzzled as well! The boys played with and petted her paws and she just laid there, her tail thumping madly. She obviously knew that these boys were special and needed extra kindness. It literally brought tears to my eyes to watch her with them.
