Question What kind of kitty litter do *you* use?

What is your favorite and why?

I haven't had to buy any for 15 yrs and wonder what's best all around as far as odor blocking, safe, good clumping, etc.

I prefer Fresh Step. It does the best job of eliminating odors, imo.

With 11 cats in the house we buy a 40# bucket in Sam's. I don't remember the brand name. Just recently tried some other brands and nothing compares to the clumping ability as this one. It is also priced right, I think it is about $8 for 40#.

Because of so many cats, we also use Arm & Hammer litter deodorizer everyday.

You can also sign up at thier site for offers. http://www.armhammerpets.com/

Here's a picture of the deodorizer, Tidy Cat also has one in a round container, but it doesn't work as well as the A&H brand. IMO

We use Pet Value "clumping". I find that the best.

We sprinkle it with baking soda and that works as a deodorizer.

I like the clumping because its so easy to clean.

*I* don't use any kitty litter, lol but my cat does. Sorry I couldn't resist. He just uses the plain cat litter without the fresh step odor killers or clumping action.
We're just happy when he makes it in the box and not over the edge. He's a big boy and the standard box doesn't fit him. He now uses one of those underbed plastic sweater type boxs, lol.

We stick with Tidy Cats scoopable. We found that a lot of other brands give off a lot of dust in the air, but haven't had that trouble with Tidy Cats.

Tidy Cats. It handles the odors the best IMO.

I don't have an indoor cat but I wanted to say Michelle, find a litter you like and stick with it. *Some* cats will get picky and won't like a litter that you switch to and will start using the carpet or any other surface they feel like using. We have a persian who did just that, she's now an outdoor kitty and is using the patio chair pads now! Ugh. I'm about to do "something" with her.....I've just about had enough of her shinanigans.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I definately prefer the crystal kind. It absorbs all the urine and odor. I only have 1 cat and it really does last a month. I used to get a generic kind at Walmart, but they stopped carrying it. Now we have the Tidy Cat crystals. I had some once that was little round balls. Those little balls get scratched out of the pan and can roll a very long way! I only get the odd shaped kind now.
