Question Any pet sitters out there?

Hi, just wondering if any of you generate extra income from pet sitting or dog walking and, if so, how did you get started?

I have never had a business, but have done pet sitting when I was younger. (cats, dogs, fish, plants etc)

Do you know if you'd like to do any pets or just dogs or cats? Do you know what you want to charge? (if not you could call and ask other pet sitters in the phone book what they charge)

I guess I would start with posting flyers at the pet store, grocery store, vet offices, and laundromats.

I'd get some business cards printed up and get the word out.

I think it's a great home business idea.

My 12 yo DD does this for the neighbor. He goes off a lot on weekends. It was natural for him to ask her to feed and walk the dog because she was over there a lot playing with the dog anyways. That's how it started out. She didn't advertise and he feels assured that she cares about his "baby" almost as much as he does, so her pays her very generously.

He pays $5 a day or $20 for a weekend and I think he pays A LOT for her to just go over next door and feed the dog twice a day and walk him if she feels like it.
