Question Acquiring a SaltWater tank - any suggestions?!?!

Our former Battery Commander (we're buddies - his wife gave us Peyton) is giving us a 29 gallon saltwater tank, a few fish, a snail, some crabs, and "live sand"(?!?!).....

    so - um - *H*E*L*P*!!

We've always had freshwater tanks & I'm clueless!! I'm sure we'll get some advice from them, but I'd kindda like to be somewhat prepared *before* this thing gets here!!

Go to a good saltwater fish place and ask many quetions. And ask the former owner questions. You will kill fish! so get the cheaper ones first. You are starting out good with an established tank. KEEP ALL OR MOST OF THE CURRENT WATER! You will need testing stuff and the additives to correct the water. Read and read how to feed the fish and what to keep the water at.

We had one for a year, gave it up cuz it was to much work for us. We killed to many fish. I am a big fresh water fan.

Thanks Kim! I will probably become quite chummy with the fish store folks!

We've got a fresh water tank now & I still think we've gone through about $100 worth of fish in the last year!!

I had a freshwater tank, so can't be much help. Just wanted to say congratulations. I have always wanted to setup a saltwater tank myself. The fish are beautiful.
