Default ? for those who make their own pet food and treats

Do you use organic ingredients for the food and treats?

I don't use organic meat for the animals but I buy meat from a local butcher who kills his own meat. The animals he has are free rangers living on natural food and they aren't dosed up on antibiotics and hormones.

Hmmmm, great question. I hadn't even thought of that. I don't make my own pet food but I do plan on making treats within the next couple of weeks. Hmmm, gotta think on that one.

    Do you Kim?

I haven't made any yet, but was just talking to dh about it tonight. I really don't see how we can afford to do all organic for the furbabies. If we're successful at gardening, that will be a huge help but I'm torn about the things like flours and such that aren't organic.

I don't know what to do!

kim, personally I don't think you need to be organic with the furries. As long as you feed them non-tinned food I don't think you'll have a problem. Unprocessed food will really keep down your vet bills and I would imagine it's cheaper than tins too, but it does take time to do.
