Busters tumor
Last week I had a cyst removed from my Shar-pei's back leg. I opted to spend the extra $50 to have a pathologist look at it. I figured better to know right??
I just got the phone call from the vet. Not the best news I was looking for. Honestly I almost forgotten all about it. Just glad that the cyst was gone and his stitches were healing nicely.
So Dr Ivan called and told me that the Buster had a mast tumor Class 2. Class 1 being mild and Class 3 being the worst so we're the middle of the road. He talked about radiation and chemo treatments but who can afford that?? He preferred instead to put him on a steroid schedule. He told me he has a boxer with the same prognosis and 6 years later that dog is still doing fine. So I guess we'll start with that course in about a week when his sutures come out. It just sucks.

Chea, So sorry to hear of this news. I know what you mean about the radiation. Plus how do you explain to them that this is all helping them? Hope that he is like the Dr.'s dog and has a happy, long life despite this news.
