Default I have my poodle pal, my ddad got his not long after I got mine

and the two were great friends. Dad's Lady was older when he got her and she had a few "character flaws" like she was almost everything that you can think of that makes some people not like poodles. She was high strung, barked a lot, demanding (!), smart, didn't like to be outside much, etc... . But she was very, very intelligent. Moreso in fact than any other poodle or dog of any kind that I've ever been around. Anyway about 2 weeks ago, she got run over and even though it didn't kill her Dad had to have her put down. The other day my friend said I have a friend who has a litter of poodle puppies and I told him about your dad's dog. He said he could have one if he wants one. I talked to Dad and he said yes I think I would. Well, I talked to this friend last nite and he said I think all the puppies are spoken for. I feel so bad, but if Dad wants a puppy we'll get him one. One way or another......... He surely misses Lady. She was his constant companion and lap dog. It's so hard to lose a best friend.

Aww, I'm sorry your dad lost his sweet Lady.
I just know you'll be able to find him another fur baby that will need his love.

So sorry about Lady. My dogs and cats are all like family. Many days I like them better than family. Hope your dad gets another puppy soon. Would he consider a dog from a shelter? I know ours is overrun with puppies. Of course, he may only want another poodle.

They really prefer a poodle for several reasons.
    1. B/c they don't shed
    2. They like the poodle personality for the most part
    3. Poodles are clean dogs
    4. Honestly my dmom is not an animal fan and poodles are one of the few that she likes....

I have a friend who has a black standard poodle. He is huge but is the smartest and sweetest dog I've ever seen. He's so big that he puts his front feet up on the counter at the vets office - kinda like saying hello when they get there.

Hoping the perfect poodle comes your way.

Poodles and poodle mixes are very common at shelters. Have your dad go look there. Don't EVER buy a puppy from a pet store!

We've never bought a dog from a pet store. A good breeder is the way we've always gone in the past. I'll mention to dad about the shelters. Thanks.
