    Default We have babies!!!

About 2 months ago someone dropped off the sweetest cat. She stayed outside, but everytime someone opened the door, she would try and run in.We figured she'd been a house cat.
Well not long ago we noticed she was pregnant.
I brought her in tonight and she's had 3 kittens

I tried calling Dee to see if she could tell when the mama cat would be done lol She's letting me pet her and touch the babies but she's still 'cleaning up'.

When will I know if she's delivered all she's going to?

very exciting! I don't know how to tell if she's done or not, or if shes just having a break between having yet more. I know their litters can be just a few or a whole bunch. I bet when Dee sees the thread, she will reply.

    WooHoo Tammy!

In answer to your question: When will I know if she's delivered all she's going to?

    I don't know!

I have only had one cat have babies in front of me and that was Olga. She had Sid and then couldn't deliver Oliver so had to have a c-section. She was big enough though that I thought she had more than one baby in there. lol

Hopefully Gayle will see this thread and help you out, she is a vet.

I'm surprised she is letting you pet her and be near her babies. Just keep your little children away from them for now as she could lash out. I would be sitting up all night with her Tammy, just watching and comforting her. I don't think she'll eat right now, but she may like a drink of water.

Just watch for signs of her straining and nothing happening, if it goes on too long (don't know how long that is though, just what I was told with Olga) to call your vet and if they aren't on emergency call thier message will give you the number for the vet that is.

She sounds like she will be fine though. Most litters I have seen are between 1-5, the more kittens the better treatment, food and shelter she has had.

Ooooo I can't wait to see them!

Any more questions ask away, I'll try and answer. I'll hop on im for you Tammy

Oooh that is so cool. In a week or so, she will move the babies to another place. Its all a part of nature for them to do that.

I bet that red one is going to be pretty.

    Congratulations "grandma".
