Default Trying to hatch an egg.

Yesterday no where near a tree Dh found a liittle blue egg. We think its a finch egg. We decided rather than let a critter get it we'd try to hatch it. I took a small styrofoam cooler and put bedding in it. We have one of the heat lamps we use for the ducks on it . We went it a dark room and did the "candeling with the flash light and it looked to be fertile from what we'd read. I did it again today to see if it was any different. I'll leave it alone a few days and check again. I hope it hatches! What the heck do you feed a baby bird though?

Dh has always wanted a pet bird so maybe this is it

We found a small bird in a nest a few summers ago that had been abandoned and we feed it worms we cut up in small sizes. After a few weeks, another bird adopted him

Hey thanks! I'm so excited about this silly egg. I had no clue another bird would adopt a baby!
We were totally baffled as to why we found this egg no where near the trees, barn or a nest.

The kids found one more egg that was a lovely dark blue. Neither hatched! Bummer!

When I read the title to your post all I could think of was Dr. Seuss' Horton Hatches the Egg! LOL!
