We recieved a free Turtle, Now what?

Hi, my children just recieved a red eared slider, complete with a 4 ft aquarium, filters, 2 heaters, sunlamp. sunning rock, food, vitamins, replacement filter things for the filters, feeding cages etc, etc. All for free. I couldn't say no to the children because they were soooo excited and it came with everything (even its own stuffed franklin and towel!)
And we haven't even had fish before.
Anybody with any experience with turtles or aquariums in general? I would appreciate any tips and advise.
