We lost our cat while we were gone........
Friday we left to go visit DH's family in Louisiana. While on the road headed there, a friend calls me on my cell to tell me she thinks Socks is dead. I asked if she would go check to verify it. (Her DH saw him on his way home.) I told her my niece's were next door at my MIL's and they could tell her for sure if it was him. She called me back a few minutes later to say it was him. My youngest niece who is 9 picked him up and moved him out of the way. Bless her heart! Of course we were all depressed about it because I actually delivered him 4-1/2 years ago. We had his mom and she has passed away too.
We live in the country and he decided he wanted to go across the road to chase cows. Needless to say, he didn't make it back home from the cow chasing adventure.
He will be missed mostly by Chris. He slept with Chris at night and would lick his hair like he was cleaning Chris.

Oh I am SO sorry to hear of your loss! Hugs. A pet is someone precious and the sad part of their part in our life is saying good bye all too soon. Take the time to grieve, and to remember and celebrate the joy Socks brought to your lives. Takes a bit longer than people who don't have pets understand, but we all do here.
