    Aw I love babies!

I hope she is only hissing because she is in pain from trying to deliver the others.

If you have to, wrap that baby up for warmth and make sure he is clean and his airways are clear. Hopefully when mama is done having the rest, she will take care of them.

    Let us know.

LOL favesis, you sound like me. I would have done the same thing. Oh wait, I did do that a couple of weeks ago!

Keep your receipt, if she is being a good mommy, you can always take it back.

Can you post pics of the mama and babies? I would love to see them.

When I think back to when I was in labor with my kids...I can totally relate to the hissing. LOL!

A few years ago we took in a little stray female cat, who had kittens a few months later. At the time I was amazed to discover that she was pregnant in the first place, she was very tiny and I thought she was still just a kitten. According to a the vet she was full grown, but she was a dwarf....who knew cats could be dwarves too? Anyhow...when she finally started having the kittens, she was strolling across the patio when the first one came out, and then she started running around the patio just screaming and squawking. I felt so bad for her--I could tell that she just had NO CLUE what the heck was happening to her. She laid right down when she realized that more were coming! Poor kitty.

Congrats on the new babies! Hope mom and babies are doing well

i swear this cat is crazy!!!! last night i opened the door to let the dogs out and she ran right out adn around the house, it was midnight and i was out chasing her. the only other time she has ever been out was when she got pregnant. then this morning, i left the kennel door open so she could come and go for awhile and the next thing i know she is grabbing a baby and running into the living room, i stopped her and put the baby back only to find out she had moved others somewhere else. so the search was on, i finally found them but none were in the same spot.but we found them and all are back in the kennel.

    LOL favesis

She is doing this for a reason. Mama is moving the babies from the spot where she had them in instinct to protect them. She doesn't want them to be where she had them, even though she cleaned up, in the wild this would bring predators right to her and the babies. She will do this quite a few times in the next month or so, until the babies learn to use the litter box on their own, so their waste doesn't draw predators or for cleanliness reasons.

I'm with you though, when my Olga had babies, I kept her in the sewing room with the door shut. She streaked out every chance she could. I finally let her and when she was waiting by the door, just let her back in. Mom's need breaks too.

OH and I gave her 3 different spots in the sewing room to move the babies to. 2 pet carriers with a comfy blanket in them and left the door open and a basket with a soft blanket in it. That helped her to move them. Problem was Olga will not let me touch her, she goes actually wild on me when I try and poor thing had to put up with me in there with her and touching her babies all the time.

    Good Luck!
