Ewok and savannah are recent additions.
We got Ben from the Newfounland rescue 3 years ago. That picture was taken the day we brought him home. Before a good bath and haircut.
Cad is 4 years old and was forcefully given to me because I refused to allow the man who had the pups to drown them. She's been with us since she was six weeks old. The best dog I've ever owned. She's already saved the boys from a brown snake that was lying under their jungle gym.
The foxy is my sons and I wont miss her when she leaves I'm afraid.
And vinegar is also four years old and has had three kittens.
( that picture is when she got her head stuck in the security door. she was there for half an hour. We were about to use the bolt cutters when she escaped all by herself.

Ben is protective in a gentlemanly way. He's never bitten anyone but his growl is the deepest I've ever heard (it scared me the first time I heard it). He's the only one of the dogs I'll have around guests.Originally posted by jo

When stray dogs come onto the property he never attacks them, but it's priceless to watch as he escorts them from the property. As most from the northern states of America would know Newfys are northern Hemisphere water dogs. They are particularly good with small children an eg. We had a 2 year old come here that took a shine to him. He allowed her to play with his ears and jump on him a bit. When she decided to suck and bite on his paws he just let her do it (yuk!)
Later we found her asleep on his back. He's 75 kilos so he wouldn't even have felt her
We also had his mate Kayla who we had to put down a month ago.
