Visa, My furbaby (westie)
I'm so sad. Visa, my furbaby, is very sick. I went out of town last week end and when I got home Dh told me she had been coughing all week end. Not only is she coughing, she has very labored breathing. I took her to the vet yesterday and she has congenital heart failure. He put her on some meds but wasn't very hopeful. We should see results if there are going to be any within three days. She didn't sound any better last night. Visa has been a part of out family for 14 of her 15 years. I don't want her to suffer. If she is going to go, I pray it is painlessly and without suffering. I know many people don't believe animals go to Heven, but will you keep her in your thoughts please?
Thanks,
Marcia

Marcia, I SO know what you mean
I DO hope she is comfortable and not in too much discomfort.
This is the worst part of having Furbabies and I will say a prayer for both of you. On the one hand you don't want to play God and on the other hand you don't want her to suffer.
love and warm fuzzies to you and poor little Visa.

Big hugs to you and your family. I know it is so hard watching them be less than 100% healthy.

I'm sorry to hear about your furbaby being so sick Marcia. My best advice would be, not to wait too long to see if the suffering will be over soon. We had a 12 yr. old schnauzzer (our best buddy) that we let suffer with cancer for too long. In retrospect I wish we had had her put down much sooner.
It's not easy but as pet owners they trust us to do what's best for them.

Thinking of all of you. I know it's not easy and hurts so much.

My thoughts are with you and your baby. We just removed a cyst from my dog that was found to be cancerous. They are such a part of our lives I know its hard to see them suffering. And of course dogs go to heaven, along with all the cats etc. Who else could give a bigger homecoming greeting then when we pass over ourselves??

Thank you everyone.
Visa is not doing any better. She is worse as a mater of fact. We are planning on taking her on Friday. The vet is out of town right now.
This will be a sad day indeed at our house.
