Another one goes ot the Bridge
I went with my sister, her daughter and daughter's friend today to our vet. Why? Spot, their kitty of sixteen years, had a stroke. Spot was gently helped to the Bridge.
This was my niece's first brush with a fur kid death. She cried until she was nearly sick and almost fainted. Then she started to hyperventilate. I spent about ten minutes with her, getting her to regulate her breathing and calming her the best I could.
Dear old Spot lived his entire life with my sister. She owned his mother and he was the kitty they kept. He was a gentle giant of a cat who will be hugely missed. Run free at the Bridge, grand old man.
Geeze, I am crying again.

Aww, I'm sorry.
Tough life lesson for your niece, heartache is part of the price you pay when you are lucky enough to have loved or be loved.

So sorry she had to go through that. It takes a special kind of person to love furbabies that much.

Losing our fur friends is so hard. I do think that it serves a valuable life lesson, but it's a tough one to learn, esp. when you're young. I hope that time will heal her heart.
