Question Dee, questions in regards to your "kids"

How do you keep track of all those cats? Do they have unique personalaties? Do any of them look similar?

I keep trying to imagine me keeping track of them and I know I'd forget who was who.

I've been wondering that, too. Are they indoors or outdoors? I just noticed the other day that it seems like you have added a few since the last time I was observant.

A couple more questions to add:

    Where do they all sleep?

Do they all pretty much get along or are there a few that don't?

How much cat food do you buy each month?

Kitty litter - our town's policy is you can put the kitty litter in your garbage pickup, however they do limit the amount per week. Do you have any restrictions on your kitty litter amount in the garbage or do you have to take it somewhere yourselves?

Do they have unique personalaties? Yes they do, they are just as individual as people are.

Do any of them look similar? Yes, the only time I have trouble telling who is who is when they go streaking by really fast. LOL We now have 2 solid blacks and I have to look at their faces to tell them apart. Bear has a wider face than Clarissa. Lots of black and whites and 2 have white tips on their tails, but are easy to tell apart as Fonz is 4 times bigger than Madeline. Oliver looks more like his mom Olga than Sidney does. We have 2 tigers now, Tigger and Popeye, but with the size difference between the 2 they are super easy to tell apart.

I keep trying to imagine me keeping track of them and I know I'd forget who was who.

Yes Kimberly, all are indoors. Once I bring in a sick or injured kitty, they get their shots and spayed or neutered, they are in for good. They have a much better life and are all very happy and healthy cats.

I have even been asked by my vet what is wrong with my cats? They are all very nice and not your normal snooty typical cats. LOL

Dee, all mammas are proud of their kids. I always love to hear about your "kids".

I'm so visual - I see these cats streaking by and Dee trying to figure out which one is going to get into the most trouble.

    More questions:

How old is the oldest one?

    How young the youngest one?

Do you still have any that have special needs. I always remember when you first became a member here, you shared about your little special needs kitten.

I'm curious about the cat litter question I've never heard of this...limiting how much cat litter you dispose of? How would they know? I scoop mine every day into a plastic garbage bag and toss it in the outside trash for weekly pick up. About once a month or so, I dump the whole thing and clean out the pan and add fresh litter.

I'm not sure how they would know, other than by the weight of the bags. They do check our bags if they think there is something there that shouldn't be. They have refused my bags a couple of times because I put a empty can of spray paint in them. We have a long list of what we can and cannot put in our garbage and one of them says "an excessive amount of cat litter or dog droppings".

If you had the amount of litter that Dee would have, in our town we'd have to haul the garbage bags to the dump ourselves. Our bags are set at a weight limit (I'll have to check the exact amount). We don't have a regular garbage truck. It's a guy who picks it up or during the summer months, high school students.

Do they all pretty much get along or are there a few that don't? Yes they do all pretty much get along. We do have days just like any other kids where Ralph, Oliver and Hoss tend to pick on the little ones or Bubbie out of boredom. But I don't stand for it and out comes the squirt bottle. LOL I don't even have to squirt them much anymore, they only have to see it and go running.

How much cat food do you buy each month? I honestly don't know, Jack keeps track of this, but I will guess my indoor kids go through about 80-100 pounds per month. We buy it in 25 pound bags at Sam's. They strictly get dry food and to be honest if I give them a 'treat' it is generally a freebie sample of food I get in the mail. No table scraps or soft food.

Kitty litter - our town's policy is you can put the kitty litter in your garbage pickup, however they do limit the amount per week. Do you have any restrictions on your kitty litter amount in the garbage or do you have to take it somewhere yourselves? We put ours in our weekly pickup also, no limit on the amount.
In truth, I never planned on having this many cats, but I just can't leave a little one outside sick or injured and once they come in, well I can't give them up. It is indeed a full time job. Because they live so closely together, I am constantly checking their ears and keeping them clean, once a week I clip nails, by the time that is done about 2-3 hours have gone by. LOL I also groom them, most like to be brushed or combed and I admit I do Squeaks and Sidney more than the others as they are my 2 long haired cats.

I never had a pet growing up, not indoors anyway, my dad occasionaly had hunting dogs. Mom is terrified of cats but still will come up to visit. I love my kids, and wouldn't give them up for the world.

    More questions:

How old is the oldest one? Bubbie is my oldest, she is now 14.

How young the youngest one? Hmmm that's hard to say, the smallest is Trixie because she has been ill for some time now, but doing better every day. But I think Popeye is actually the youngest in age, he is about 4 months.

Do you still have any that have special needs. I always remember when you first became a member here, you shared about your little special needs kitten. No no special needs ones anymore, we had to put Toby to sleep as his quality of life was not the best. Although when I bring most in they are sick or injured like I said and it takes time and lots of loving to get them well. I have spent many a day or night closed up in a room with my sick babies.

Oh, boy- that can be easy for your mother if she is terrified of them! My nephew is afraid of cats, too. He is 2.5 and he is so funny about their cats- (they mostly live outside and in the basement) he gets SO angry when he sees the cat on the deck. (He doesn't do anything mean to them, but he just seems toi really despise those cats for absolutely no reason. We've been thinking maybe he was a bird in a former life, but when one of the cats got into the house a couple weeks ago when the family was out and ate one of their birds, he wandered around going, "stupid, stupid bird," so there goes that theory.)

Anyway, it seems like a lot of your cats are new. How many have you getten recently? Have I rally just been that unobservant about your signature?

Can you take a family picture? (Of course I'm not serious- we can't even get 8 kids to sit still for a picture.)

You are both right, the amount of soiled cat litter we have is a large amount. LOL We have a private trash company out here in the country. They do limit you to 2 cans per week and with only 2 humans in the house, that is easy for us. If we ever have anything extra to put out, I just call them up and find out when is the best day to put it out, large stuff I mean. Once I had a pole lamp, a recliner, that sort of stuff. Generally we are allowed to put it out with our regular trash as like I said this is a private company.

LOL on your nephew Kimberly. When mom and dad come up for a visit, I just keep them away from her. Most of my kids are afraid of other people so you don't even see them if someone comes over. But I do have a few that are very social and try to get mom to pet them, which of course she doesn't. She won't make eye contact with them as they will gravitate to whomever does, they think everyone loves them.

Yes quite a few are new, in my siggy start with Theo, from him to the end are all the new ones.

We have 3 sibling groups Sidney and Oliver are Ralphie and Olga's kids, my fault on that one, didn't get them fixed in time. Theo and Clarissa are brother and sister and Trixie and Alice are sisters.
