Hello
I just had my dog buddy netured and all his shots I got him microchipped and tattooed has any one else done this and do you think that it is worth the extra money. for both I paid $47.50 here the city gives discounts on the city tag if they are nuetured and mico chipped so i figured it would save me money in the long run just wanted others opioions when i have to tell dh how much the total bill was thank goodness for tax return.

I think that's a good deal & that you are being a good pet owner.

Both of our dogs are microchipped.
And you paid really good price.
I can't imagine losing one of my boys, so the chip gives me peace of mind.

Good deal on the microchipping, both my cats are indoor cats so I haven't thought about it for them.

I took home a indoor cat that was microchipped ($130)- the owner gave him to me- and I don't know why he microchipped him. I can only see the value in it if it's a prized cat- or a beloved pet- which obviously he wasn't-since he was quick to get rid of him!
As for dogs... I'd get them microchipped. They have a tendency to be superfriendly and people have a tendency to take superfriendly dogs. Plus, dogs get picked up alot for 'vagrency'- this way, you'll get your pet back sooner. Which would be very reassuring.
You got a great deal!

Well grand total for shots (rabbies distemper, parvo) netutring, Micochiped tattooed, flee treatment. Pain shot, heart worm tested, well check and his suite fee as they called cost me $233.38 but he is worth it. He of couse it worn out and confused but he is doing okay. Luckly tax return came in thats alot at one time would have had to do it one thing at a time but would have cost more because then i would have a doctor visit price also. so doing all at once saved me some money.

I think that is a good price for all you had done. We have been wanting to get out dogs chipped for some time. We'll probably do it this summer.

I have two VERY indoor cats, and they're both microchipped.... I would be absolutely devastated if i lost either of them... our older cat, Buffy, was microchipped as part of the $110 adoption fee, which included spay, shots, chip, and a med she needed for her spay incision which was infected... my second cat, william, was chipped after we had found him in the snow with frostbite... my hubby was addicted and had him chipped cuz he said he was ours now, no matter who owned him, lol... i dont think it cost too much, and its worth it, because a shelter will scan first if they have an animal brought in...

I volunteer at our local shelter and the first thing thtat gets done when a stray is picked up is to scan them for a chip. Many animals are reunited because of them. They are GREAT.

I think microchipping is an excellent idea. Most vets now days automatically check to see when someone brings in a lost pet.
