    Unhappy The little snake died.

    He died today!!!

He/she ate food the first 3 days and then stopped eating....I was also worried because he had no elliminated. So two days ago I warned the children that their may have been more damage to lou than just his tail......and today he/she died.

    The children were devastated!

The took an empty golden box which had held chocolates, lined it with papertowels . They made a little wooden cross with Lou written on. And they cried when he was burried.

I tried to comfort them by telling them that at least he had died in a nice dry home and not at the side of the road in a wet ditch. It helped them feel a little better. Hospice for the little snake.

You bet. Hospice for sure. You looked after the little guy, and made his last days comfy and secure. He was warm and safe and out of the cold and wet.

Way to go HH, and a great example for the kids. You are teaching all the right things.

So sorry about Lou. You are teaching your children how to be loving and caring - That's so wonderful.

They will remember you doing something so unselfish. I used to take in all of the injured animals as a kid. My dad splinted wings, etc. I always remember him carefully taping bird's wings.
