Update on Joey
The vet I really love just called...and called right after they opened too. I have been chasing the other vets down for info, so I am really pleased that he called me this time.
Anyway, Joey's fever is down, but he hasn't eaten yet. They need to keep him until he eats so they can make sure his body is processing food the way it should be. His belly is still very sore, which they said is normal after all the surgery he's had.
The best news of all though is that we can visit him today!!! I made sure that it wouldn't be hard on him to see us come and then go again and that it wouldn't be hard on the kids to see him (e.g. if he has a bunch of tubes sticking out of him or soemthing else that would "freak" them out).
I am so excited, and I just know I am going to cry...we'll be going there at 11
I can't wait to see him

Oh Chelle, I'm so happy for Joey and you all! You have a great vet there as not all of them will let you visit. Give Joey a hug from me too.

Visiting is a great idea! My vet encouraged me to visit my kitty this week, so I crawled into the kennel with her and actually got her to eat out of my hand. They were thrilled :-) Sometimes, it just takes that little touch from someone they know and love. Also, my vet encouraged me to bring down an old towel or something that smelled like home...

He was so happy to see us...started purring immediately. He was walking around...very active. You wouldn't know anything was wrong with him except for the shaved fur and little IV "pad" on his paw.
I felt awful leaving him again though
I am really hoping he can come home tomorrow.
I miss the little guy!

LOL Chelle, I'm chuckling about you comment on Joey about being a "little guy"!

He'll be right as rain soon and back to his annoying antics.
So happy to hear he is doing better.
