I need advice on buying a dog bathtub!
I want to and need to bathe my dogs this weekend.
Where can I buy a metal large tub? I will fill it with water and let the water cool off, cheapest place for one of those metal tubs???
I was thinking:

Walmart
Any other suggetions are appreciated, I just want to keep them out of my bathtub and swimming pool!
Thanks!!

Do you have a feed store near you? These are generally found in small towns, so you may not. If you do, they usually have good prices on these tubs.
I just bathe my dog in the bath tub. Do you not have one?

Yep I recommend looking into a feed store too, like Agway, or try this, http://www.polocenter.com/health/feedus.htm just click on your state to find one.

Just an idea, if you don't like the idea of the dogs being in the people bathtub...my mom's kind of like that and she just bathes the dog before she cleans the tub for the week.

A kiddie wading pool from walmart sounds like a good plan, but, will it waste more water than a metal tub? So frugal am I , gee whiz!!!
I would use our tub in the house, but, we no longer have a shower head that is holdable, and the postion of the tub vs dog is awkward.
This also may become a rituial so I want a place other than in the house to bathe her and of course our beloved Bella!
Thanks for all the great advice!!

I use one of those plastic storage box like things you can get from Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store. I have a chihuahua though, but the one I have would bathe a much larger dog than mine.....
I think I paid like five dollars for mine a few years ago. I've seent them at the Dollar store for the same price. When it's warm, he gets a bath outside. If it's cold, I give him one inside .Change Jar - 239.00 ~ March 18 , 2006

I would try Walmart myself. I never thought about getting one of these. We ended up getting a bigger utility tub in our basement when we were replacing ours. No more grooming bills!

Well, I spent the tub money on tea tree oil, tea tree soap and tea tree lotion for the dogs, human products, but great as a flea killer and repellant!!
I ended up bathing them in the bathtub.
Boy, were they dirty! Not anymore!
Thanks for all the advice anyways!!

I don't know about your area, but in my area there are self serve dog washes. They have raised tubs and provide towels, shampoo and blow dryers. For my 65 lb dog it only costs $15 and the best part is you leave the mess there!!!

Just checking if you have eliminated the thought of simply using the hose outside? That way you don't have to have another thing lying around the house?
A wise tip that might help someone. Use (real) Ivory dish soap for dog washes. Takes away the unwanted dirt and such. Doesn't strip away the much needed natural skin oil for the dog.

Hi!
Being a professional groomer, I have many catalogs I can refer you to and sites..
You do not have to be a progroomer to get them/ they have all kinds of great things for all kinds of animals as well.
Some of my favorites to oder from..
www.petedge.com
www.revivalanimal.com
www.ryanspetsupply.com
www.jbpropet.com
www.pet-agree.com
www.senproco.com
good luck and hope you all save a bundle using these.
go to their sites for free catalogs as well.
it will shock you all as to how much you will save and how much you spent at a pet store..
Also.. for a metal tub... go check out if there are any closings of resturaunts in your area. they may have some 'metal sinks' that you may be able to get.
