New Cat---SOS
So, here's the scoop...On Saturday, DH, my parents and I were out shopping. One of the places we went to is also a satellite office for the Humane Society. It's a University of Kentucky clothing outlet that has one cat in it from the Humane Society. This poor kitty had almost no litter in it's box and it only had a few t-shirts strewn around it's cage. I straightened the t-shirts, cleaned the litter that was there and then ran to the Kroger around the corner to buy more litter.
When I got back the little sweetie was curled up on the t-shirts I had arranged. I knew right then that I had to have this kitten. She is so sweet and with the love and attention we could offer her she would have such a great life. [this outlet store usually has only one employee on duty and they don't care about these animals. the kid that was working there couldn't have cared less about the lack of litter or anything!]
I've been thinking about this poor kitten ever since we left the store. I have decided that I was meant to adopt this kitten. My DH is very very against it. If I bring her home I know he'll let me keep her, but he'll be very resentful. Any advice on how to change his mind or help him see that we are supposed to take her in? Please help and quickly!!!!

Can you afford another cat? Why doesn't he want another? What happens if you get this one & see another you want?
Maybe you can make a deal with him...you'll give him something he wants if he'll agree to not just let the cat into your family but be kind to it as well.
Good luck!~*Darlene*~

Good Questions!!
We can afford another one. That won't be an issue. Also, the other 2 cats are ones we got when we decided together that we wanted cats. This would be the first "impulse" cat. I just can't leave her in those conditions. His main reason seems to be that we won't be able to pay enough attention to all 3 cats. Personally, I think I have enough love to give 20 cats!

Well bribe him Miranda, I'm sure you can come up with something to make it worth his while.

Well, I went and got her last night. DH came around...he decided that he gets to name her and gets to make one frivolous purchase. I agreed wholeheartedly!!!!!
Thanks for the advice!!!

I agree with Darlene, you must know of something hubby wants that you can bribe him with.

BTW I think you are wonderful for wanting to save that little girl.

Once DH picked her up and she was purring and cuddling up to him, he was a goner!!!!! He only gave me the conditions so it wouldn't seem like he caved totally!
I so wish I could have tons of cats but I'll settle for the wonderful 3 that I have. I appreciate the advice and support
...I suspect I'll spend the weekend making amends with DH
THANKS!!!!

Again, everyone, thanks for your support!! Things are going very well! She had really bad cat dandruff when we brought her home (the vet said it was probably a combination of poor diet and stress). We have been adding salmon to her food so she gets some of the extra nutrients she needs and last night she had her first bath. She did really well. Frugal Moment: The vet wanted us to buy some special shampoo for dry skin and the main special ingredient was oat flower. DH and I went to kroger and bought a bag of oat flower for $3.00 and mixed it in with the regular shampoo and it worked great! The shampoo the vet wanted us to get was $20.00
I am going to use the rest of the oat flower in my first attempt at making cookies from scratch!!!!
I really feel like this was meant to be...she has adjusted so well so quickly! Plus my other 2 furbabies are getting really curious about who making all the noise in the spare room. I'll post an update in a week or 2 and let you all know how they are getting along!
thanks!!!!

Well, on of the stipulations to letting me keep the new kitten was that hubby got to pick the name. He told me he would let me know what to call her by thrusday. I woke him up at 6 am asking what to call her. {I had been calling her Bellatrix or just Bella. Our other 2 cats are Boris and Buster and we liked the B thing} Well, I got my way!!!
Hubby told me to go ahead and call her Bella. He spoils me rotten!!!!
