Sad news and good news....

About a month ago we took the little girls to the vet's to be spayed and have their shots. Alice was fine if a little bit wild LOL, Clarissa couldn't have her shots or be spayed as she had 104 temp, she is feeling better now with the help of antibiotics and I have to make another appointment for her. But the sad news is my baby Trixie came through the surgery just fine and after it was all over with died on the table.

I miss my little girlie.

Now for the good news. I have a new baby.

His mommy abandoned him and after listening to him scream for hours I sent Jack over to the neighbors to get him last Monday night. He is a little darling and the first new baby I've had in a long time that is HEALTHY!!!!

He is *about* 5 weeks old??? I am never sure of this as all my kids are rescues. He has a real healthy appetite as you can see from the pic below. He just about inhales his 'ba ba' and attacks my legs whenever he hears the microwave now as he thinks I am heating one up for him.

Oh and he has 6 toes on each front paw, not on the back too like Ralph and Ollie but his are real 'mitts' hence Mittens.

All my other kids are getting along with him just fine although the older ones are still hissing occasionally for show. LOL

Aww Dee, I'm sorry to hear about Trixie and hope that Clarissa is feeling better.

oh how adorable is that?? i have a soft spot for kitties, as i have 4 babies running around in my garage right now getting into everything. sorry to hear about your other baby.

Sorry about your Trixie. It is so hard when you lose a pet especially when they become such a big part of your family.

The vet was beside himself and so very sorry it had happened. As I said earlier, all my 'kids' are rescues and little Trixie had issues. She was about 10 months old, very tiny (only about 4 pounds) and had breathing problems. The doc took that into consideration when using the anesthesia and didn't give her very much during the surgery, only what was needed to get the job done. But it must have been too much for her little body.

Now Mr. Mittens on the other hand I am finding out has a little temper! Gonna have to start curbing that right away and clip those little picky nails today while he is snoozing! I have tried while he is awake and he isn't having any of that! LOL

I am also noticing that my other kids aren't coming to me for pets as much as they used to. They are too busy playing with their new toy mom got them and it MOVES!

Good thing he is a sturdy little fellow as he is getting rolled, batted, held down and cleaned to death!
