    Default My Baby is Sick

I woke up this morning and my black lab didnt look right. She threw up all over the floor and was growling at me! I called up the vet and rushed her over. Here she has a fever, and has pain in her bell. The vet wouldnt let her come home, he wanted to run some tests on her.

I hope she will be ok. Please keep her in your thoughts. Her name is Suzie and is is almost 10 years old.

Well I couldnt stay away. I called and they said they didnt have the results yet (I was being impatient), but they said I could go and visit her. I tell
you it was sooooo sad to see her laying in the crate. They put her on morphine, she is awake but didnt recognize me. I just sat there with her for a while and was singing songs to her that me and my son made up about her. Then the tears started and I had to leave. My hubby is upset but isnt home from work yet and the worst part is that my 9 year old doesnt know yet. He was at camp all day and then a neighbor invited him swimming at her house. Luckily my hubby will be home before my son so we could tell him together.

We went back to see her again at 5:30, she looked a lot better since the pain meds were wearing off, she knew who all of us were! We were able to take her out for a walk and we waited over an hour to speak to the dr. He said all her blood work looks great and that the x-ray shows some type of obstruction, he thinks she swallowed something. He is going to take another x-ray tomorrow to see if it moved, hopefully it will that will be a great sign. If not then she might need an operation. He is letting her pain meds totally wear off to see if she is still in pain. Hopefully I might be able to bring her home tomorrow.

    Wish me luck.

I hope you can bring her home tomorrow. I'm so glad it isn't anything serious.

I called about an hour ago and they said she is resting peacefully. Poor thing isnt used to being kept in a crate. Anyway they have visiting hours starting at 11 this morning. DH stayed home from work today so between the 2 of us one of us will be able to stay with her most of the day to keep her company and to keep her out of the crate. The tech said the dr will probably take another xray some time in the afternoon and if the object moved enough through her then we could bring her home. She is no longer throwing up nor does she have the runs which are both great signs.

Thank you all for your kind words. I really do appreciate it.
