My dog
just got SKUNKED.
Again.
I swear she does this every freaking summer. And of course, she's very very furry (sheltie). The last time she did this, we spent $$$ on this enzyme stuff to spray on her fur. Didn't work. Then we took her to the groomer & had her bathed & trimmed. That helped more than anything. But she still stunk for a good month.
I feel bad for her, but she's out on the back porch for the night

Oh Heather, I'm sorry! What a pain for you. Yikes. I'd give that dog a tomato bath it wouldn't ever forget! Bless your heart. Call your local zoo or game warden they might actually have something that works better.

Someone else posted a while back about their dog getting skunked. I posted that the "Queen of Clean" says to use Massengill Douche on the dog. According to her, it removes the odor. I think you have to use the dry powder form.

Oh dear, I think the porch IS the place for her to save your sanity! Silly dog, real cats don't have stripes, lol!
I've also heard of a mixture of dawn det/peroxide and baking soda,

You poor thing. They just don't learn do they? Our dogs have a thing for porcupines. You'd think once would be enough? oh no no no. At least porcupine quills don't stink for a month (although I'm sure the dog would prefer the skunk). Good luck!

Peeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwweeeeee. Sorry bout that Heather. I'm sure that you're wishing she'd "remember" that and not do it again. It's funny that she doesn't cuz my poodle remembers everything. Maybe the 2nd time's a charm in that dept.

Oh, no Heather. I am so sorry that happend to your dog. Of course my real sympathy is for YOU!!!!! I'd keep him on the back porch too, you don't want that stench getting into your furniture.

Oh Heather I am sorry to hear about your dog! My neighbor's dog was sprayed and she used tomato juice and she said it worked. I think I better get some at the store just in case.

Well, I found the bottle of Skunk Kleen we bought at the groomers last time she did this. I'm glad too because that stuff was very $$$
Dh is going to clean her up with that later tonight. Then in a week or two we'll take her to the groomer. The only way I'll let her in the van is if the Skunk Kleen works. She WREAKS right now. The back porch wreaks. Ew ew ew!
