I think the baby is going to make it!
Some idiot gave away THREE WEEK OLD kittens in our neighborhood! A girl found one of them and turned her in to the shelter. She is adorable, and full of vim and vinegar. We have all been taking turns feeding her kitten milk replacer and mashed up canned food. We put her in with a spayed female and she has turned into the BEST foster mommy! She has been cleaning her and keeping her warm. Everybody say, "AWWWWWWWW"!!!
This baby is so small, she can fit in the palm of my hand. She is a tabby with a white chin and (right now) blue eyes. She looks a lot like my Harvey must have as a baby.
Send out prayers that this feisty little bundle makes it. She has the attitude and spunk, so I am hoping she pulls through. I will be feeding her tomorrow afternoon (unless somebody else beats me to it!).

My husband brought home a kitten for me about 7 years ago, we couldn't get her to drink water....she simply didn't now how. When I took her to the Vet he said she was probably only about 4 weeks old and should still be with her mother. I had to act as mommy and would get down on the floor with her and show her how to drink her water, she picked it up in no time and is now a happy very healthy 7 year old. Best of luck and good wishes, they sound like a fighter...I'm sure they will be just fine.

Awwwww!

I know the feeling Lori. I too have 5 kittens that I rescued when thier mommy was killed. They were between 2-3 weeks old when it happened and are now about 2 months old and just full of it too.
My Lissa became thier foster mommy and has done a wonderful job cleaning them and keeping them in line.
Though I got to tell you feeding 5 screaming babies 'round the clock is exhausting.
But so worth it when they all make it.
Your little one will make it, especially with all the loving care she is getting.

That kitten is lucky to have you. I'll send positive thoughts your way but it certainly sounds like you are on top of the situation.

UPDATE--we went down this evening to feed the baby...and there was another one in the "drop off" cage outside! We brought him in and fed him too. He was still hungry (tried to nurse on foster mom), so we got out a syringe and fed him KMR.He ate THREE ccs PLUS the mix of KMR and canned food. Foster mommy took right to him and started cleaning away. Then he played happily with his "sister" (who knows, she might REALLY be his sis!).
I met my friend, Sue, and her daughter, Tessia, there (they wanted to see Itty Bitty) and they have decided to volunteer! Yayayayayaaaaay, Sue and Tessia!

A stray cat had kittens under my neighbors porch one spring and after several attempts to get them out within a two week period we finally gave up. Two days later we had a snow storm, while shoveling my driveway I noticed 1 of the littler managed to crawl out. Cold wet and tiny I brought it in, dried it off and called a vet. He told me how to feed it and keep it warm. It was our first cat ever and the only kitten who managed to survive the snow storm. He lived a well loved and happy life. I still miss that cat I loved it more than I can say.

We were back there this afternoon and fed the babies while we pottied the dogs. Itty Bitty (she doesn't have a name yet) waded into her food (literally) and ate away. I held Little Boy and fed him. He ate again about half and hour later.
I put him in with an uspayed girl to see if she would come down with her milk and nurse him. Hey, it's worth a shot! It has happened with dogs in my distant past, so maybe it will work with cats as well.

Little Boy ate canned food!!!
I am sooooo excited. He also took a bit of the bottle. His little tummy was as tight as a drum when I put him back with "Mom".

I'm glad to hear the little kittens are doing ok! I just sent up a prayer for the little ones. It's so mean that some idiot gave them away too early!
