HELP! Hawks are after my cats!
They are hunting my feral cats outside, The cats are about the size of a large rabbit. Well the 2 young ones are smaller.
We just spent the last 1 1/2 hours running around trying to keep them from fying off with one! Yes, they are diving the yard!
Any ideas how to get these things out of here?? I know they are protected, you can't hurt one, nor do I want to do that,, but anyone got any ideas??
We have 6 of them, momma is in heat, so we are trying to catch her to get her fixed, only one other male is fixed.. (this means they have one thing on their mind,,) two are just now old enough to go in.
I have about 3-4 feet of snow, we have shoveled snow so they can move around alitttle, they dont have alot of room to run to hide. Also these guys are not tame enough to even pick up.
Help, I dont want to lose my babies!!!

I am sorry about the hawks. I love cats! I wonder if shooting off a "noise" gun. Are those called "cap guns"? would help. I hope other people have more ideas for you.

I went online to try to find some answers for you.One site recommended contacting your local wildlife department for assistance with live trapping and relocation of the hawks. They may have other suggestions for you to help deter the hawks.I hope you are able to find a solution.I love cats also!

id maybe get a few cat carriers and have them around for them to run into and hide.....other than that i know people who raise chickens will have a netting hanging over the cat area so the hawks cannot get in....

I love animals but, these Feral cats should not be around like that. They do pose quite a health risk among people and other animals. I would suggest calling the local animal control to see if the colony can be relocated to get some adopted out.
