Default Question about locator chip in dogs????

Does anyone have the chip in their pet that would allow them to find the location of their pet if it got lost? When my dog was a pup they put the chip in her. We did not pay for the service to be able to locate her. I really want to pay for this service now? How does this work??? My husband says he has some paperwork on it but he will have to look for it.

My dog is safe at home with me but I guess you never know when our beloved pets could take off.

i didn't know it worked that way. when the animal turned up missing, i thought the animal had to be brought to a vet and have the chip scanned where the vet could then identify where the animal belonged.

That's what we have for our dog and cats. When they got chipped, we filled in the pprwrk and sent it off to the company. We only had to pay the free once per chip. Whenever we move, we contact the company w/ the new address.

you are correct halloween ~ the chip has to be scanned by a vet or shelter, but usually when someone finds a lost pet, they attempt to find the owner by taking the dog to the vet/shelter

At the moment, if your pet was scanned, the information should register back to whomever put the chip in -

This is an interesting topic to me. As microchips head toward being implanted in people, it raises many questions in the religious communities.

In biblical prophecies, it's the sign of the mark of the beast. Read the book of Revelations.

When we lived in the U.S. DH wouldn't let me microchip my pets due to "mark of the beast". But he had to back down on that because they had to be microchipped to come to England w/ us.
