Default Where do you buy your dog's vaccinations?

I'm going to give my puppies' and dogs' vaccinations at home. Where do you order yours from? I need to get just single doses and most places only sell big packs. The puppies will be needing their first shots next week and the dogs are a little overdue for theirs. Any suggestions?

We got ours from a feed store. You can buy just what you need. You need to be careful that they are kept cold, at the store and on the way home. Have to get the rabies (sp?looks odd this am) from the vets office. Need to get the correct size needles & syringe also. To be honest when we were down to just one dog it was easier to go to the vets, get the yearly check up and shots, renew license and be done with it.

If I were to order for more than 2 dogs....say if my female had pups....I would order from omaha vaccine company.Their 6 in 1 (or 7 in 1's -depending on where you live -what is needed) cost $3.99 each...they might charge you $10 b/c they need to be mailed refridgerated, but they will get to you fast. If I were to just vaccinate 1-2 dogs( or pups) I would buy the shots at the local feed store....here they run about 6.99 each. For the rabies, you'll have to call around & find out which vet offers the lowest prices & if you can just get the shot & not the full-blown exam if you do not wish for the exam.
I lost my omaha vaccine company catalog, but you can find them on line. They have the best flea/tick/mosquito medicine for dogs & cats.its called biospot. I like this brand- b/c for my dogs, it has worked soooo much better than advantage or frontline for less of a cost. I usually stock up a years supply for both dogs & it has saved me $$$$

I ordered from Wholesale Kennel Supply, I got 3 5-way puppy shits plus 2nd day shipping for 22 bucks. I wouldn't use the 7-way, it has the Lepto vaccine and you really shouldn't give that to puppies this young. A lot of th esites wont let you get the single doses. I ordered before I saw the message about Omaha, too. I'll be doing the dogs' rabies shots here, too. I've already checked on the legal stuff on it in my state, it's fine. I will take your advice on the Frontline, too. We have the 2 adult Shih-Tzu's and 3 puppies, we might be keeping one. Thanks for the advice!

    Thumbs up

Drs. Foster & Smith also sells vaccines (they ship them in dry ice inside styrofoam containers, they are VERY picky about them being nice and cold when they reach you), syringes, needles, etc. and they have very reasonable prices.

I wasn't aware that you could give rabies vaccines yourself? I thought that was a state mandated law that it had to be given by a certified veterinarian??
I'm in no way trying to start a debate, please forgive me if I am coming across that way but would like more information on this if you would be willing to pass it along?

I also agree, Frontline is the way to go, yes, it's more expensive than some of the others but in the end it's really worth it to prevent BOTH ticks & fleas.

    HTH some,
    Michelle

I get ours from the feed store as well. It costs about $4.50 or so for the basic vaccines. The rabies one must get from a vet (it's state law here).
